The experiments that we perform use custom software. This gives us flexibility that is not available from most commercial packages, and allows us to tailor the control of experiments to our specific questions and needs. Over the years, the lab has worked with acquisition and analysis programs developed in C (“datac”, developed by D. Bertrand, CMU Geneva, and extend by our lab 1986-2000), Matlab (TM) (Acq3, developed by Scott Molitor and Paul Manis, 2000-present), and most recently, Python (ACQ4, developed by Luke Campagnola, Megan Kratz and Paul Manis, 2009-present). We are presently focussing on using ACQ4, as it is flexible and uses modern tools. Below are links to our internal documentation of these programs.
